2024 Tournaments Results

2024 Country Week

Country week was held over 1 & 2 June 2024 at the WA Eight Ball Federation Head Quarters in Queens Park.  30 members from the Peel Pool Association participated in the 2024 Country Week competition. Claire Marsh represented Peel in the Women’s Singles congratulations to Claire who came runner up.  Jeremy Bower made the open singles and came runner up.

Division 1

Kim Buchholz Captain, Stone Stenhouse, Keith Carter, Steve Hale, Peter Trebley, and Colin Stables represented Peel in Division 1 against Goldfields, Bunbury, Geraldton Albany and Hedland.  Peel was victorious being awarded Division 1 Champions.  Stone Stenhouse was awarded the trophy for the highest percentage in Division 1.

Division 2

Jeremy Bower Captain, Dylan Moyes, Jack Marsh, Damien Baldock, Joe Millard and Peter Christie represented Peel in Division 2 against teams from Bunbury, Goldfields, Geraldton, Karratha and Narrogin.

Division 3

Troy Ellis Captain, Damien Bates, Paul Aylward, Julien Riebel, Glen McCormack and Damien Stenhouse represented Peel in Division 3 against Goldfields, Geraldton, Blackwood, Bunbury and Albany. Damien Bates awarded the trophy for the highest percentage in Division 3.

Division 4

Claire Marsh Captain, Gary Hatchett, Taylor Jones, Toko Tipene, Shane Green and Mathew Wade represented Peel in Division 4 against teams from Bunbury, Goldfields, Northam, Karratha and Hedland. Peel was awarded Division 4 runners up.

Division 5

Jason Oughton Captain, Greg Kutzer, Like Smith, Blake Hatchett, Lance Ryan and Paul Gangemi represented Peel in Division 5 against teams from Albany, Bunbury, Hedland, Narrogin and Katanning.

Double Elimination Tournament

2 April 2024 the Double Elimination was held with Stone Stenhouse going undefeated against Kim Buchholz in the final. Well done guys great matches to watch.

Division 2 Doubles Tournament

30 April 2024 Division 2 Doubles was held. Congratulations to Paul Aylward and Taylor Jones winning 3-2 against Steve Hall and Rodney Pearce.  Taylor Jones with a master break in the last frame. A big shout out to Toko Tipene for running the competition.

Division 1 Doubles Tournament

8 May 2024 the Division 1 Doubles was held with Keith Carter and Steve Hale being undefeated in a great to watch double elimination against Danny Weaver and Kyle Van Zon winning 3-2, even more impressive not losing a single match with Steve hitting a master in the final frame to seal the deal. Congratulations to Keith Carter and Steve Hale going back-to-back to win Division 1 Doubles 2 years running.

Thank you to Toko Tipene for coming down on his birthday to run another well-run competition!

Division 1 Singles Tournament

28 May 2024 Division 1 Singles did not disappoint with 22 entrants and some great match ups. But it was Stone Stenhouse and Damien Baldock that came up cream on the top in making the grand final. Stone proving exactly why he is the Australian Champion and only giving Damien 2 shots in best of 5 final with an insane clearance to seal the deal!! Congratulations Stone and Bulldog!

Division 2 Singles Tournament

5 June 2024 Division 2 Singles was held a great turn out with 25 entrants competing. Congratulations to Dylan Moyes for taking out this year’s Division 2 Singles tournament defeating Steve Hall 4-2. Thanks again to Toko Tipene for another well-run night!

Scotch Doubles Tournament

11 July PPA held a Scotch Doubles Money Competition which was a double elimination. Well done to Steve Hall and Rod Pearce taking out the win by only dropping 1 frame all night both pocketing $180 each.

Kevin Higgins and Paul Aylward came runners up both winning $80 each.

Tom Martion and Lance Ryan came third pocketing $40 each.

Congratulations again to all the winners and thankyou to everyone who came down and played in it.

Shelfords Open Doubles Tournament

23 July 2024 the Shelford’s Open Doubles was held with 14 team entries in a double elimination format. It was Tom Martion and Colin Stables who made it to the final undefeated. Young Cylas Jackson and Geoff Lambert narrowly missed out making it in the final by being beaten by Kevin Higgins and Paul Aylward.

The final was a best of 5 of which Kevin and Paul won 3-2 so Colin and Tom had a second chance and in a nail-biting game it was Colin and Tom who won 2-0

2024 Country Cup

On the 17 & 18 August the 2024 Country Cup was held in Bunbury. This was a ranking event and selection of the “Australian Cup” Country Team.

Congratulations to our very own Vice President Claire Marsh in making the 2024 WA Ladies State Team. Well done to Claire and all the ladies in making the team who will be representing WA in Australian Cup at the Nationals Championships in October 2024.

Congratulations to Keith Carter who made the over 60’s team and named captain of the team representing WA in Australian Cup at the Nationals Championships in October 2024.

2024 Masters 50+

13 August 2024 the 2024 Masters 50+ congratulations to Jason McGuire who defeated Steve Hale 4 – 1. Well done to Steve and thanks to Toko Tipene for running another great competition.

Division 1 Top 16 Tournament

3 September 2024 the Division 1 Top 16 tournament was held. Stone Stenhouse has done it again! Stone proved just why he is the Australian Champion, winning the Division 1 Top 16 added to his highest percentage win, plus winning the open and Division singles! Congratulations Stone, also very well played to Jason McGuire on making the grand final.

Division 2 Top 16 Tournament

27 August 2024 Division 2 played their Top 16 Tournament, well done to all who qualified. Congratulations to Steve Hall and Dylan Moyes for making it into the grand final. It was Steve who came up triumphant winning 5-1  Thankyou Toko Tipene for running the competition
