2026 Open Scotch Doubles Tournament Results

Peel Pool Association Open Scotch Doubles Tournament was held at Dudley Park Bowling & Recreation Club (Inc) on Tuesday 21 August 2026.

The best of three Open Scotch Doubles gave players a chance to mix and match teams from both PPA divisions.

Due to the larger than expected field the tournament started early, a great turn out with 24 teams or 48 players in total. First upset of round one was Terrell Ormsby / Brent Braithwaite (Div 2) took out the Division 1 team Damian Bates / Mike King.

Round 2 saw some close battles. Upset of this round went to the Callum Selvey / Basista Rayamahjee up against the Division 2 Doubles champions Gary Hatchett / Jason West.

The quarter finals saw Keith Carter / Tom Martion defeat Matthew Wade / Cameron McLeod, Chris Page / Stewart Wimpress defeated Callum Selvey / Basista Rayamahjee, Glenn Clark / Stuart Kingsbury defeated Corey Weldon / Toko Tipene. The surprise of the round was the quiet assassins Michael Hayes / Robert White defeating Shane Green / Rodney Pearce.

Semi Finals saw some solid performances put in. Semi 1 Michael / Robert lost to Chris & Stewart (2-1). Semi 2 Glenn / Stuart vs Keith / Tom was another heavy hitters match with the current PPA Division 1 Champions taking the game from Keith / Tom.

The Final

The final was the best of 5.  Glenn / Stuart took the first frame in a tense battle, second frame was also a close battle with Glenn / Stuart taking a handy lead 2 – 0.  With Chris / Stewart needing to pull a rabbit out of the hat but were simply outclassed in the third.  The Division 1 champs smelt a comprehensive win and took the third in a clinical execution – final score 3 – 0.
