Welcome
Welcome to the Peel Pool website. The Peel Pool Association is a non profit organisation that has been running now for over 35 years. Its main aim is to promote the game of pool and its associated cue sports in the Peel region of Western Australia. We run team competitions throughout most of the year with the main season running throughout the winter months. We also have many other events throughout the year including sending teams upto Perth each year for both the Open Country Week and Womens Country Week events. If you live in the Peel area or surrounding districts and would like to play competitive pool then please get in touch with one of our Committee Members and they will point you in the right direction.

13th July 2010 -- My apologies for not updating the results earlier than today. Work has been flat out and there was also a first division game that was postponed but has now ended up being a forfeit. This is unfortunate as a forfeit reflects badly on the whole competition. Remember you only need 4 players to make it a match so please only forfeit as a team if it is absolutely unavoidable. I have started a thread in the forum to see if any members have any ideas on how we can handle team forfeits in a fairer manner so if you have any ideas please feel free to put them forward here. Team Forfeits. Please note that if you are not already registered for the forums you will have to register first. (This only applies if you wish to comment, you can read anything in there without having to register). If you have any problems registering then please get in touch with me.

In second division Keith Carter (capt), Alex Palatinus, Russell Hine, Jason McGuire, Damien Baldock and Steve Law proved too strong over the weekend as did the third division side of Brian Lloyd (capt), Kevin Sexton, Glenn McCormack, Peter Raines and Ian Hart. The fifth division team of John Nixon (capt), Adrian Morton, Rosco Neville, Bob Hunter and Chris Smith finished runner ups with Chris Smith putting in an awesome effort, winning 12/15 frames to claim the singles trophy for that division. 19th October 2009 -- On Saturday we had this years winter competition Grand Finals and what a great day it was. It wouldn't have been possible without the help of certain people and I would just like to mention them now. First of all thanks to the Silver Sands Tavern for providing us with a great venue. A big thanks too for Charlie Spiers for providing and setting up the tables along with his helpers on that day, Rosco Neville, Chris Tedbury and Russell Hine. Thanks also to Chris for providing us with triangles and jiggers for the day. We also would like to thank the many members who stepped up to help our head adjudicator Donna Haben with adjudicating on the day.
Now the results from the day. In the First Division Final the Money Shots (14) defeated the Wizards (12). Best players for the Money Shots were Colin Stables (3/5) and Andy Bell (3/5) whilst for the Wizards it was Keith Carter (3/5) and Chris Tedbury (3/5). In the Second Division Final the Footy Club 1 (14) defeated the Ravo Mongrels 1 (8). Best players for the Footy Club 1 team were Steve Law (4/4) and Rod Gillies (3/3) whilst for the Ravo Mongrels 1 there was Allen Mills (2/4), Murray Birch (2/3) and Marcus Watson (2/3). In the First Division Plate Final the Straight 8's (14) defeated Sands Blue (10). Best players for the Straight 8's were John Broekmeulen (3/3) and Brad Lamers (3/4) whilst Tony Senzio (3/5) was the best for the Sands Blue. In the Second Division Plate Final the Dudley Park Angels (14) defeated the MBC Redbacks (11). Best players for the Dudley Park Angels were Julie Hutton (3/5), Donna Williams (3/4) and Ken Dubberlin (3/5) whilst for the MBC Redbacks the best players were Darren Penrose (3/5) and Anita Penrose (3/5).

Best of luck to everyone competing this coming Saturday. :-)
13th October 2009 -- I have just posted a schedule for this years Grand Final Day which is to be held at the Silver Sands Tavern this coming Saturday the 17th October. You can read it here - Grand Final Day Schedule. Tickets for the Windup will be available on the day so I hope that we will see a lot of members there. At the moment we are also in need of adjudicators for the games that need to be played. If you adjudicate 3 frames you will be payed $10, adjudicate 5 frames and you will receive $20 and so on.
11th October 2009 -- Just in case anyone thinks they are seeing things I did correct a mistake I made in the Second Division Final. Thanks Dondon for pointing it out to me. :-)
10th October 2009 -- Sorry for not getting the results up earlier but I have been doing night shifts and I am still waiting on one of the score sheets to be delivered. In First Division the Money Shots (14) defeated the RSL Diggers (13) and the Wizards (14) defeated Sands Red (8). In the First Division (Plate), Sands Blue (14) defeated the Straight 8's (11) whilst the game against Sands Black and the Stingers was forfeited by Sands Black again due to a lack of players. (Please note that if your team does forfeit a finals game it is forfeiting the entire finals series)
Second Division saw the Footy Club 1 (14) defeat the Ravo Mongrels 1 (7) and the RSL Snipers (14) defeated the MBC Mud Dogs (6). Unfortunately both games in the plate in the Second Division were forfeited so the MBC Redbacks will be playing the Dudley Park Angels on Grand Final day.
So in the Preliminary Finals this Tuesday night the games and venues are. First Division the RSL Diggers will play the Wizards at the RSL hall and in the First Division (Plate) the Straight 8's will play the Stingers at the Boathouse Tavern. In Second Division the Ravo Mongrels 1 will play the RSL Snipers at the Ravenswood Hotel. All the best everyone. :-)
5th October 2009 -- Best of luck everyone for tomorrow nights games. Just to confirm those two venues from Second Division, the RSL Snipers are playing the MBC Mud Dogs at the Mandurah Indoor Sportz Centre. Unfortunately the Ravo Mongrels 2 have forfeited against the MBC Redbacks due to a lack of players.
2nd October 2009 -- Next week there is the first round of finals. Venues will be: First Division - RSL Diggers versus Moneyshots at the RSL hall and Sands Red versus Wizards at the Silver Sands Tavern, First Division (Plate) - Straight 8's versus Sands Blue at the Boathouse Tavern and Sands Black versus Stingers at the Silver Sands Tavern
Second Division - Ravo Mongrels 1 versus Footy Club 1 at the Ravenswood Hotel and RSL Snipers versus MBC Mud Dogs at Mandurah Indoor Sportz Centre (venue yet to be confirmed), Second Division (Plate) - Ravo Mongrels 2 versus MBC Redbacks at the Footy Club (venue yet to be confirmed) and Dudley Park Angels versus Footy Club 2 at Dudley Park Bowling Club. As soon as it is confirmed regarding those couple of venues I will update the website here.
Results from the Top 16 Tournament played on Tuesday night are: First Division - Graham Searle (3) defeated Rob McCormick (1) and Second Division - Steve Law (3) defeated Steve Shepherd (2). Pictured below are the finalists from the First Division final.
(from left to right) Graham Searle and Rob McCormick.
24th September 2009 -- All updated again. Next Tuesday we have the playoffs for the Top 16. If you finished either 17th or 18th and someone who finished in the Top 16 cannot play on the night then come along as you will get a game. Second division is to be held at the Mandurah Bowling Club.
22nd September 2009 -- I have had to make a couple of adjustments to the Top 16 in second division. Three players who I had disqualified because they could not play enough frames to qualify have since been reinstated due to Bylaw 8.3. These players will still need to play tonights games to get enough frames up though.
17th September 2009 -- Everything has been updated again. :-) A couple of members have approached me over the last week or two questioning their results. I appreciate this as one is only human and even though I try my hardest to get everything spot on, mistakes can happen. So if you have any queries about you or your teams statistics then please get in touch with me.
